Norma Jean Heath (Smith) Cardwell went to be with the LORD Monday, April 21, 2025. Born June 28, 1930, in the Halls Community of Knox County Tennessee. She was a descendant of James McCloud and Mary Collinsworth, one of the first families of Tennessee who settled in the Halls Community about 1800. A longtime and faithful member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church of Knoxville. She was the widow of Ralph Edwin Cardwell of the Corryton Community.
Preceded in death by parents, Ida Frances Blazier and Everette Henry Heath; and siblings Marion Frances Sutton, James Eugene Heath Helen Ruth Bales, Robert Glenn Heath and Shirley Evelyn English.
Survivors: Sister, Wilma June Harper of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews; Children, Gary D. Smith (Patrice), Gwendlyn K. (Young) Brice, L. Scott Smith, and Mark L. Smith (Melissa). Stepchildren, Mike Cardwell and Greg Cardwell (Kathy).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM, officiated by Reverand Kent Williams at Mynatt's Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.mynattfh.com
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Norma Jean's name. 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
