William Philip Wayne Wood, age 44 of Knoxville, passed away October 28, 2024. He was a member of Loveland Baptist Church, where he loved to serve. He loved to fish and hunt with his son. He was the proud owner of Philip’s Mobile DJ for 15 years and worked for TDOT for over 18 years. Philip enjoyed helping the homeless and fed them under the bridge as often as possible. He most enjoyed mission work, going to Nicaragua. He will be remembered as a strong-willed man who loved his mother and family greatly. Preceded in death by grandparents Alleen (Nana) and Paul (Pop) Wood, step-dad Jimmy Carlisle. Survived by wife of 20 years Koa Wood, son Jabin Wood, and mother Nancy Carlisle. He was loved by aunts and uncles Paula, Dave, Larry, Liz, Sandy, and Greg, and special cousins who were more like siblings. Philip loved his cat, named Bear, goats Dot Head, Flower, Stripe, and Jayel. He was also loved by his in-laws Dennis and Patsy Easterday. Special thank you to Covenant Hospice for their love and care. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel.
