William Ralph Mink

William Ralph Mink went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2018. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife Peggy of 58 years and his children after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Ralph was born on October 23, 1938 to Buford and Addie Mink from New Tazewell, Tennessee. He attended Hiwassee College where he met Peggy and later attended the University of Tennessee where he received a degree in Pharmacy. His 46-year career as a pharmacist included 36 years at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Outside of work, Ralph had many other passions and hobbies. He had an adventurous spirit which was found in his travels, flying small engine planes, and fishing. He was greatly admired, never meeting a stranger, was as kindhearted as they come, and could not finish telling a joke because of laughing. His faith and family were most important to him and he was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Doris Mink Alston, and brother-in-law Jesse Alston. He is survived by his wife Peggy Trent Mink, daughter Sandy and husband John Daniels, daughter Regina and husband Rick Dance, and his son Billy and wife Kim Mink. Grandchildren include Matthew Daniels, Patrick and wife Kendall Daniels, Allison and husband Daniel Kreipe, Jacob Dance, Isaiah Dance, Abby Mink, Emma Mink, Kara Mink and Jake Mink and 1 great granddaughter, Annalise Kreipe. He has a host of extended family, close friends, and neighbors. Services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Pike, Knoxville TN 37938 on Thursday evening, December 13th with receiving of friends and family from 5pm to 7pm and funeral service following at 7pm. Friends and family will gather at Watsons Chapel Cemetery in Claiborne County, Tennessee. on Friday December 14th at 10:45 am for a 11am interment. Pallbearers include John Daniels, Rick Dance, Jake Mink, Matthew Daniels, Patrick Daniels, Jacob Dance and Isaiah Dance.
