William Clinton Lyman

William “Bill” Clinton Lyman, Sr left this life to be in the presence of the Lord on June 24, 2024. He was 87 years old. William was born to George and Viola Lyman on August 6, 1936 in East Gary, Indiana. He served in the Marine Corps for eight years as a Corporal, working as a Radio Telegraph Operator. William served on the police force in Georgia for 25 years retiring as a detective. William also retired from the Post Office after 29 years of service. He was known for his great love for his family, especially his wife. The love he had for his family is unmatched. He loved the Lord and had great joy in sharing the miracles of God that he saw in his family. Everyone who knew him, enjoyed being around him. He never met a stranger. He was one of a kind. He made friends feel like family. William is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon Lyman. His children Kathy (Rick) Roper, Shelley (Ronnie) Jenkins, and William (Liza) Clinton Lyman Jr. Grandchildren Lauren (Josh) Lawson, Ricky Roper, Michael (Sarah) Brock, Paul (Stephanie) Lyman, Jessica (Aaron) Blair, Cole (Brittany) Lyman, Samuel Lyman, Chloe McIntyre, and Kimberly Roper. His twelve Great Grand“babies” with three more to arrive this year. Special recognition for his brothers and sisters. Brother and sister-in-laws, whom he loved like family. His nephews, nieces, all his adoptive children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He loved us deeply, as we loved him. There will be a Celebration of Life, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 4pm. It will be held at HCFKnox, 2505 Washington Pike Knoxville TN. A private graveside service will be held on July 3rd, 2024.
