William F. Keaton Sr., of Knoxville, passed away August 29, 2013. He was a Charter Member of North Knoxville Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of World War II where he was awarded EAME Theatre ribbon with one bronze star, good conduct medal and World War II Victory medal. He was a residential and commercial contractor for over 50 years. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Clara Jane Sharp Keaton, parents J.C. & Sallie Keaton, brothers James, Ed, Elmer and Earl Keaton and sister, Lucille Summey. Survivors include sons, William F. Keaton Jr. and wife Brenda and Clifton Ray Keaton, brother, George Keaton of DeKalb, Ill, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Walter & Irene Hartgrove, sister-in-law, Ruth Keaton, special niece, Julie Pate, husband Josh and son Hudson and a host of other nieces, nephews and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association 211 Center Park Dr, Knoxville, TN 37922 or North Knoxville Dialysis Center 4440 Walker Blvd. Knoxville, TN 37917. Pallbearers will be Matthew Bailey, Mark Sanderson, Michael Smith, Dennis Carpenter, Kenneth Blake, Gerry Dalton and Gary Summey. Funeral service will be 4pm Sunday, Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City. with Rev. Guy Milam and Rev. Chester Lakin officiating. Family & friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City 10:30 am Tuesday and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for entombment at 11 am. The family will receive friends 2-4 pm Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City.
