Long, William Frank (Bill), age 85 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Bill grew up in the Oakwood neighborhood, centered by Oakwood Baptist Church. After graduating from Central High School, he attended the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University then served honorably in the United States Air Force and as a reservist in the National Guard. Bill enjoyed a long and successful sales and marketing career in the food and beverage industry, managing territories throughout the southeast for Carnation, Kraft Foods and Nestle USA. Bill enjoyed spending time with friends and family, making memories and sharing stories that always ended in a good laugh. He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 42 years Sandra Newberry Long, son Chad Everette Newberry, mother Evelyn Helton Long and father Howard Long. Bill is survived by grandchildren Lynsie and Dylan Norman, Kneely and Dillon Paul, and Chad E Newberry II; great-grandchildren Dylan Norman II, Jamison Norman, Bruce and Levi Paul; brothers Tony Long and Larry Long, sister-in-law Birdie Long, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Family and Friends may call at their convenience from 1:00PM-6:00PM on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City in the parlors.
