William "Bud" Hawkins

William L. "BUD" Hawkins, Sr. age 91, of Powell, (born and raised in Mascot) went to his Heavenly home June 28, 2023. Bud was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, Corryton, TN. Bud proudly served in the US Navy, followed by a 30-year career with the Knoxville Police Department. He was always so proud of his brothers and sisters in “BLUE”. 

Bud was preceded in death by his parents Rural and Willie Ghreen Hawkins, special Grandmother Dena Hawkins, sisters Joyce Sanders, and Lou Ella Woods. 

Survived by wife Alma Hawkins, daughter Karen Hawkins and son Larry Hawkins, Knoxville, additional children by choice daughter Jill (Chip) Blythe, Seymour, and Eddie (Cissy) Moore, Powell. A half-brother Keith (Pam) Hawkins, Mascot. A special sister-in-law, Betty Jo Foust and several cousins, nephews, and nieces.   

Bud enjoyed playing golf and loved all his golfing buddies and the members of the Breakfast Club.

Bud will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend.

Family and friends will meet at Lynch- Bethel Cemetery, 5928 West Emory Road, Knoxville  at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2023 for graveside service, Pastor Justin Pratt officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
