William R. Poston, “Bill,” went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Bill was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a deacon and member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church since 1973. He retired as regional manager of Jefferson Pilot Insurance Company in 1990. He was a commissioner and consultant for Hallsdale Powell Utility District. He was a previous president of Knoxville Optimist Club, and was one of the original founders and fund raisers for Rainbow Acres Baptist Home in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by parents, I.F. Poston and Edith Poston; sister, Cora Lusk and brother in law, H. L. Lusk; brothers, Charles Bailey and George Bailey; daughter, Linda Gribble and son in law, Reed Gribble, Jr. Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Iva Lee Poston; daughters, Beverly Meredith and son in law, Jeff Meredith; Pat Crumley and son in law, Mike Crumley; grandchildren, Chris Crumley and wife Sherry Crumley; Michael Gribble, Amanda Meredith, and great grandchildren Ryan and Alex Crumley. Special love and thanks goes to Diane King, who gave him her kidney which extended his life five extra years. Pallbearers will be Robert Halcomb, Doug Jennings, Tom Wells, Lester Vineyard, Bob Nidiffer and Matthew Clark. Services will be officiated by Dr. Mike Boyd, Dr. Jim McCluskey and Dr. Brian Trapp. Receiving of friends and family will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday with service to follow at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will meet at Roseberry Cemetery on Thursday, May 29 at 10:45 am for an 11:00 am graveside and interment.
