William Alfred Newcomb, born June 13, 1964 died on July 23, 2018. He had reached the proud age of 54 before leaving us. Being a member of Victory Baptist Church, Bill believed in helping others and it was easily one of his most endearing qualities. He was a very generous and good-hearted man whose goal in life was to help those around him. Bill was a plant manager for a time, but his real love and profession was to be on the road in his truck. Being on the road all of the time, Bill had the privilege to see the country and all of its wonder. A profession he enjoyed for over 20 years. The ole concrete cowboy went by the CB handle “Muffin.” A name which those closest to him came to know him best by. Bill just celebrated his 33rd anniversary in June with his wife, soulmate, and high school sweetheart, Cindy Newcomb. Bill will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Preceded in death by: A.H. Newcomb (father), Denise Raper (sister), Tina Galyon (niece), father-in-law Paul Cooper. Survived by: Cindy Faye Newcomb (wife), William W. Newcomb (son), Rebecca Worley (mother), Susan Galyon (sister) and husband Donald; and a host of nieces and nephews: Crystal, Ashley, and Samantha Tippens, and Tara, Rebecca, and Joshua Galyon. Other extended family: Great nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Claudette Cooper, in-laws, Sheila and Mark Yarbrough of Texas and their children along with Kathy and John Janik of Alaska and their children. The family will be receiving friends at 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City.
