Wendell Ray Everett passed away at Park West Hospital Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Ray was born on January 5, 1938 to parents Joe and Nanny Everett. He and his wife, Nancy were high school sweethearts who celebrated 64 years of marriage. He proudly served in the United States Army as a young man.
Ray worked as a Service Manager at Snider Motors, Lakeland Motors, and Subaru West. He loved working on cars and fixing things that were broken. During his retirement he was self-employed in the construction business and he loved doing ‘little side jobs’ to stay busy.
He never met a stranger and was always eager to strike up a good conversation with anyone he met. The loves of his life were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he spent time with regularly.
He was a member of Smithwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee for many years. He was a proud believer in Jesus Christ and looked forward to his Heavenly home.
He leaves to mourn his passing, wife Nancy, daughters Julie Thompson (Edward), Lori Hall (Buz), and Karla Hopkins (Mark); grandchildren Adam Thompson (Jessica), Lindsay Moore (Erick), Nathan Slaton (Amanda), Becca Hunley (Kevin), Erik Hall (Tara), Jordan Hopkins (Kaitlin), Maddie Reagan (Cody), and Hayden Hopkins; great grandchildren Eli and Rance Moore, Kayleigh and Kooper Slaton, Colton and Layla Hunley, Beckham and Baylor Hopkins, Aubree, Gracie, and Vallie Reagan, Houston, Kaydence, Cash and Nona Hall, Gracie and Emmie Jo Nirmaier.
