Wendell Ray Conner, aged 59 of Corryton, TN, received his ultimate healing on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024. He was a member of Atkins Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the Gibbs community. Wendell was the proud co-owner of Conner Asphalt Paving. Wendell cherished his roles as son, husband, father and G. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who could always count on him for help or a joke.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, AC and Sally Conner and Frank and Mildred Turner. Survived by his parents Robert and Regenia Conner; wife of 31 years, Kimberly Stansberry Conner, daughter Brianne Graves (Phillip), adopted son Diego Mota (Jessica), his grandson and “little buddy” Clayton Graves, his adopted granddaughter Rebecca Mota; special aunt and uncles Linda Bowman, Gene Conner, and Ernie Turner (Margaret). He was also survived by in-laws Reuben and Carolyn Stansberry, William and Sandra Beeler, and special nieces “Rugrat” Heather Keck and “Mandycakes” Mandy Pressley, and a host of extended family and friends.
A special thanks to the caregivers at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Per Wendell’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell’s motorcycle family, the Island Dogs. In lieu of flowers or memorials, Wendell would prefer donations be made to Atkins Baptist Church Mission Fund.
