Wayne M. Wyatt, age 81 of Knoxville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Wayne was a member of and deacon at Clear Springs Baptist Church and was a retired teacher from Knox County Schools. He was born in Claiborne County, TN on May 3, 1931 to Hobert and Cora (Evans) Wyatt. Wayne was preceded in death by parents and granddaughter, Judith Alison Mabe. Wayne is survived by his wife of sixty-years, Virginia Simmons Wyatt, daughters and son-in-laws Gail and Mike McConkey, Judy and Jeff Newgent, grandchildren, Jake and Jennifer Mabe, Jenna and Rance Sharp, Justin McConkey of Raleigh, NC. Jordan Newgent and Jaren Newgent, special great granddaughter, Maisen Sharp, brother, Leon Wyatt of Miamisburg, Ohio, and sister, Norma Simmons of New Tazewell, TN, plus a host of relatives and friends. Family and friends will meet Monday, September 17, 2012 at 2:45 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Tazewell Pike, for the 3:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. Reverend Jerry Vittatoe and Reverend Bill McCarter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s of Tennessee, National Parkinson Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Jude Hospital, The Gideons International, or Building Fund for Clear Springs Baptist Church.
