Wayne Lawrence Hook, age 84, left his earthly home to be with his beloved Savior on January 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years, Loretta Hook, and their children and grandchildren. He was born in Ohio, raised on a farm in northern Indiana, where he attended Country Grade and High School and graduated as Valedictorian. Wayne graduated from Ft. Wayne Business College as an Accountant and Auditor. He was a controller in Egertown, Ohio, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee. He served as a sergeant in Counter Intelligence Corp at Camp Atterbury, IN during the Korean Conflict. Wayne loved his Christus Victor Lutheran Church family. He was a dedicated volunteer on many church boards and at Children’s Hospital in Knoxville. Wayne cherished his son David Hook and wife Alta, daughters Ann Kropff, and Carolyn Weaver and husband Don, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested memorials be sent to Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Wayne’s life will be celebrated in a worship service led by Rev. William Ondracka at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Christus Victor Luteran Church, 4110 Central Avenue Pike, Knoxville, TN 37912.
