Wanda Sue Hill, 78, returned to the arms of her Lord on August 1, 2018 after a valiant battle with illness. Her loving care for her family and friends was a testimony to the love of God in her life and ultimately gave her peace. A long-time homemaker, Wanda was best known for the way she loved her family and friends. She was an “adopted mom” of her children’s friends and the many young people who knew her through her involvement in the youth ministry of West Haven Baptist Church and YOKE Youth Ministry of Knoxville. Wanda was a loyal friend to the members of her Sunday School class and the Choir at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, and later in life through her work at the State Testing Center at the University of Tennessee and with her many friends at Watson’s Crafts. She was kind and positive, always supportive, quick to defend, and steadfast in her devotion to those she loved. As she faced death, she was at peace knowing she would soon be in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, who loves her. Wanda was the daughter of George and Dolly Rader of Knoxville, who had previously passed. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 43 years, Gordon Hill, daughter, Shannon Hill, and brothers Jack Rader and Richard Rader. She is survived by her daughter Sloan (Jim) Bailey; son, Spencer (Wendy) Hill; grandchildren, Hunter Bailey, Savannah Bailey, Haley Hill and Spencer Hill; sister, Maggie Cole; brother Tom Rader; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who were dear to her. Family will receive friends 11:00-1:00pm Saturday August 4, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with service to follow. Rev. Kent Williams will officiate. Family and friends will then proceed to Highland Memorial Cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to YOKE Youth Ministry (www.yokeyouth.com) or Young Life of Knoxville (knoxville.younglife.org)
