With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Wanda Massingale, a beloved mother, daughter, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Born March 21, 1924, she passed September 6, 2024, at the age of 100. She was born to the loving Lester and Mattie Hubbs and raised in a family who cherished strong values and deep-rooted faith; she embodied the essence of family throughout her life.
She married Pete Massingale (deceased) and raised four children with unwavering love and care. Her nurturing spirit was evident in all she did, creating a legacy of love, grace, and family that will continue to inspire her family forever.
Having one deceased son, Ron (Jan), she is survived by daughters Sandra Smyth (Ray), Brenda Waters (Jack), and Sheila McNutt (Ronnie); grandchildren: Ronnie Massingale II, Bryan Massingale, Laura Haynes, Rebecca Carter, Amy Shorter, Kelli Jones, Audra Barnes, Dustin McNutt, and Darren McNutt; great grandchildren: Ronnie, Austin, Gabriel, Jonah, Andrew, Eli, Maya, Olivia, Morgan, Ryan and Amelia, Brett, Jackson, Hollis, Hubbs, Kate, and Andy; one great-great grandson, Lincoln; beloved siblings Clyde Hubbs (deceased), Ruth Lusk, and Catherine Dodson, and special nephews Fred Dodson and Mike Hubbs and several nieces.
She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and a member emeritus of Halls Women's League.
Visitation will be at Mynatt Funeral Home – Halls Chapel on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 11am-1pm with a funeral service immediately following. Interment will be at 3pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
The family wishes to thank Shalom Hospice, and a very special thanks to the employees of Morning Point-Powell for the exquisite way they loved and cared for her. She certainly loved them back.
In lieu of flowers, you may give to Beaver Dam Church or Alzheimer’s of Knoxville.
