Carolyn Linkous, affectionately known to all as Beany, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1938, Beany brought light and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A proud graduate of Halls High School, class of 1956, Beany excelled both on and off the court, playing basketball and softball with a competitive spirit and a love for teamwork. Her athletic prowess continued into business college, where she made lasting friendships and memories that she cherished throughout her life. After graduation, she embarked on a career that showcased her dedication and hard work.
Beany spent most of her adult life working for A & W Office Supply, where she was more than an employee; she was a cornerstone of the workplace community. She retired from the company not once, but twice—a testament to her deep commitment and the profound impact she had on her colleagues.
Beyond her professional achievements, Beany will be remembered most for her radiant personality, sharp wit and the genuine connections she built with everyone she met. Her legacy is one of laughter, generosity and friendship, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family, friends and neighbors alike.
Beany’s spirit will live on in the cherished memories of those who loved her. Though we will miss her presence, her laughter and warmth will forever be a part of us.
A celebration of Beany’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 1 2025 at Trinity Hills Assisted Living Chapel at 4611 Asheville Highway (behind Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church).
