Wanda Ray Gaddis

Wanda Ray Gaddis, age 95, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She would light up the room when she smiled.  She deeply loved her family, her church, Southern Gospel Music and JFG Coffee.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  She dedicated more than 30 years as a manager with K-Mart, where her hard work, kindness and leadership left a lasting impact on both her teammates and customers.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John C. Gaddis, Jr.; daughter, Pam Cope; parents, William and Pearlie Mae Edsell; brothers, Henry, Fred , James and Ronald Edsell; sister, Irene Boyd.

She is survived by her daughter, Karyn (David) Sloas; grandchildren, Heather (Dewayne) Rankin, Sean Sloas and Hannah Sloas; great-grandchildren, Blake and Cole Rankin; son-in-law, David Cope and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Sunday, March 23, 2025 with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel.  Dr. Bobby Lewis and Dr. Frank Catanzaro officiating.  Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm, Monday, March 24, 2025 for a 1:00pm interment service at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sean Sloas, David Sloas, Blake Rankin, Cole Rankin, Dewayne Rankin, David Cope and Brooks Jackson.
