Wanda Christine Adkins

Wanda Christine Adkins was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Wanda will be remembered as a very exceptional person. "Chris" was born on March 26, 1926 in Anderson County, Tennessee, the daughter of William S. And Hettie Stanley Foster. She had three brothers and four sisters. Chris married Jack Adkins and they went on to live happily together for 63 years. Empathic and loyal, Wanda was committed to making her new family happy. Wanda worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Wanda was blessed with two children, son, Gary and daughter, Sandra. Another blessing for Wanda was the gift of two grandchildren, Gregory and Adam. The blessing then continued with the arrival of great-grandchildren Connor and Claire. Fortunately, Wanda enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Wanda worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. She was employed for Knoxville City Schools in the cafeteria. Wanda always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. Wanda’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Inskip Baptist Church. Wanda passed away on October 28, 2012 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee. The family recieved friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel October 30, 2012. Graveside services were held October 31, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. Wanda was then laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee. Simply stated, Wanda was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Wanda leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Wanda Christine Adkins.
