Walter Vaughn Smith of Knoxville passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the age of 84. Vaughn was a long-time faithful member of Brickyard Baptist Church. He was a gentle, loving
man who was well known for greeting all of his customers with a happy “Hello, Neighbor!” on his delivery route during his many years with the Frito-Lay Company. Vaughn served his country for 4 years in the Navy and was stationed in Japan and Hawaii. He loved the Vols and enjoyed going to football and basketball games with his sons and grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Louetta Smith. He is survived by 2 sons: Robert Smith & partner Katie and Ken Smith & wife Tracey, all of Knoxville. He was blessed with several grandchildren: Lindsey Cole (& husband Kevin), Eric Smith (& wife Abbie), Elizabeth Jennings (& husband Will), Jake Cross (& wife Megan), Annie Smith, & Luke Cross, and great-grandchildren: Sadie Grace Smith, Bowman Smith, Lakyn Cole, Emmy Cole, Oaklyn Cole, & Hudson Jennings.

The family will receive visitors at Mynatt Funeral Home on Emory Road in Halls on Saturday, May 22nd
from 5-7pm, followed by a private burial ceremony on Sunday, May 23rd with Brother Larry Wise of Olivet Baptist Church officiating.
