Walter Elbert "Bud" Coomer

Walter E. (Bud) Coomer, Sr. Age 84 of Halls passed away July 17, 2013. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Bud was the President of Mynatt Funeral Home where he had worked since 1948. He is Preceded in death by loving wife of 52 years, Mary E. Coomer; parents Walter C. and Clara Mynatt Coomer; Sister and Husband Helen and Charles Kemp; Brother Charlie Coomer. Survivors: Son: Walter E. (Buddy) Coomer, Jr.; granddaughters: Ashley and Andrea Coomer; Sister-in-Law: Ruth Coomer; Special Friends: Joe Whaley and Libby Corey and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tennova Residential Hospice; 7447 Andersonville Pike Knoxville, Tennessee 37938. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 am Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for Graveside service at 11:00 am Reverend James Duncan and Reverend Larry Woods officiating with Military Honors. Pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers are employees of Mynatt Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 6 – 8 Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City.
