Walter "Joe" Marshall, of Louisville, Tennessee, a long-time Fountain City resident, died on August 15th, 2017 at 7:58 pm, after a struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. His parents, the late Walter and Edna Galbraith Marshall, founded Hickory Star Resort on Norris Lake, where he lived in the summers growing up. Joe was a 22-year Air Force veteran, owner of Norwood Auto Sales in Knoxville, founder of Top Wrench Competition, and board member of True Purpose Ministries. Joe was and is beloved by all who knew him, and we celebrate his home-going by honoring his life and legacy. He will be sorely missed. He is preceded in death by brothers Bill Marshall and Bob Marshall, and sisters-in-law Debbie LaRue and Mary Marshall. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ginger LaRue Marshall, daughter, Angela Waggoner Bryan, and husband Mike, of Gallatin, TN grandchildren, Ben Bryan, and wife Leah, Katelin Bryan, Isaac Bryan and Luke Bryan, great-grandchildren Jack and Lillian Bryan, brother in-law Frank LaRue, and wife Vicki, sister-in-law Anna Marshall, nieces and nephews, Jason LaRue and family, Melissa Orr and family, and Jerred LaRue, John Marshall and family, Susan Royster and family, and numerous extended family and friends. Family and friends will meet on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. committal service at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Highway, where he will receive full military honors. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Ministries, 1928 Fairmont Boulevard, Knoxville, TN, with fellowship to immediately follow.
