Wade Burke Whiteside Jr.

Wade Burke Whiteside SR son of Wade Burke & Daisy Hughes Whiteside was born on October 12, 1924 in Ashville NC. He is survived by his wife of seventy five years Elizabeth Young Whiteside, one son Robert Wade Whiteside (Yvonne) of Abbeville SC & one Grandson John Wade Whiteside (Elizabeth) & two Great Grandchildren Catherine Elizabeth & Wade Lance Whiteside of Greenwood. He was predeceased by one brother, James Whiteside of Ashville, NC. A veteran of World War II, he was Owner/Broker in Charge of Whiteside Realty, former President of the Knoxville Association of Realtors, Chairman of the Board of The Union Rescue Mission which later merged with The Knoville Rescue Mission. In addition he retired after fifty years from the News Sentinel. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years & Scottish Rite for 49 years. Wade was kind hearted and always helping people. He never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and was always looking for a full moon. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Kerbela’s Shriner or Knoxville Area Rescue Mission.
