Vonnie Lorene Stanifer

Vonnie Lorene Stanifer, born February 28, 1925, passed away January 22, 2018. Vonnie was a loving wife and mother and a doting grandmother. She loved the Lord and had conversations with Jesus for two days before she peacefully passed at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was one of the oldest active members of Texas Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stanifer; and parents, Reed & Mamie Welch. She is survived by children, Pat Russell of Franklin, TN, Steve Stanifer and wife Diana of Knoxville, and Terry Stanifer and wife Kim of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tracy Willkomm and husband John of Franklin, TN, Derek Russell and wife Lorie of Indian Trail, NC, Christy Dalton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephená Kitts of Luttrell, TN, Tim Winter of Knoxville, TN, and Ashley Sumner and her husband Benjamin of Knoxville, TN, 8 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brothers, Ulyess Welch, Buford Welch, and Carl Welch, all of Maynardville, TN; sisters, Roberta Bruner, Virginia Welch, and Mattie Coppock, all of Maynardville, TN and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Corey Carroll officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for graveside service at 11:00 am.
