Vivian Merritt Prince October 29, 1929 – April 25, 2016. She attended Gibbs High School and received her GED diploma at age 50. She then went on to graduate from Knoxville Business College at age 52. Her love of reading and gardening were known to all who knew and loved her. The only thing she loved more was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Verlin and Lydia Merritt; sister, Irene Burleson; brothers Verlin (Bud) Merritt and Robert Merritt. She leaves behind her children: James Tindell (Tammy), Caroline Lawson (Gary), Gail Gallaher (Bill); grandchildren: Laura Croft (Joe), Amy Ferguson (Jon), Erin Howland (Adam), and Jason Gallaher (Lindsey); great-grandchildren Nathan Croft (Rebecca), Ethan Ferguson, Eli Ferguson, Emma Grace Ferguson, Meyer Gallaher; brother Eugene Merritt (Carol); sisters Betty Newman and Louise Cornett; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends Peggy Thompson, Ann Hawkins, and her cat Lucky. Service will be 12pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel interment to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
