Wyatt, Virginia Simmons, age 83 of Knoxville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Virginia was a devoted church and choir member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. Virginia was born in Claiborne County, TN on August 3, 1935 to Callie Virgil and Geneva (Watson) Simmons.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Wayne Wyatt, dear granddaughter, Judith Alison Mabe, four brothers, and two sisters.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Gail (Mike) McConkey, Judy (Jeff) Newgent; grandchildren, Jake Mabe, Jenna (Rance) Sharp, Jordan (Spencer) Newgent, Jaren Newgent, and Justin McConkey; beautiful great-granddaughters and loves of her life, Maisen and Reagan Sharp, and Emma Kate Robbins; siblings Alma Harmon, Alice Johnson, Robert Simmons, and Dolores Swiney; an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
At Virginia’s request, there will be no formal receiving of friends. Family and friends are invited to meet at Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike Thursday, November 8 at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00am graveside service, Dr. Jerry Vittatoe and Reverend Justin Pratt are officiating. The honorary pallbearers include her nephews.
