Virginia Ruth Cruze

Virginia Ruth Hutchison Cruze, 88, of Knoxville, died on May 4, 2022. She was born on June 7, 1933, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to Clarence and Mamie Hutchison. The family moved to Knoxville when Virginia was just 5 months old and opened a grocery store that operated until the early 1970s. Virginia was a member of the last graduating class of Knoxville High School, where she was valedictorian, and was also a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and loved her Shelties. Those mourning her passing include Donald, her husband of 63 years; her beloved daughter and caregiver, Donna; and her brother, Clarence Hutchison Jr. Friends and family will meet on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 10:45am at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service officiated by Rev.
