Virginia Lynn Johnson

Virginia M. Johnson, age 85, born December 13, 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Cleveland O. and Winnie Lee Mathena. Entered her eternal rest Saturday, November 6 ,2021 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Married William E. Johnson on August 12, 1955. Had one child, Gary W. Johnson born on May10,1958. Though her life began and ended in Knoxville, Tennessee the years in between were filled with many travels as the wife of an Air Force officer. They involved many moves but gave her the opportunity to meet and make friends with so many different people. Frequent moves prevented her from working so she used her time to volunteer with various charity and service organizations. Her personal interest was Genealogy and she traced her family back to the 1400's. She loved flowers and working in her flower beds. Her greatest joy came from seeing her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by husband William E. Johnson. Sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy and Joseph Miller and Laura and Harold Holbert. Son and daughter-in-law Gary and Karengaye Johnson Grandsons and their wives Christopher and Amy Johnson, Benjamin and Hannah Johnson, Stephen and Kacie Johnson, and Michael Johnson. Great grandchildren; Grace and Lila Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Madeline and Makenna Johnson. Family will receive friends 9:30-10:00am, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with funeral service to follow, Pastor Ted Dubs officiating. Family and friends will go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
