Virginia Jean Wright

Virginia Jean Wright, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on January 26, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Jack Wright, and their three children Jerry (Catherine) Wright, Jackie Wortley, and Julie (Scott) Bell. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her four siblings; Joan (Ed) Fowler, Wanda (Earl, deceased) Cupp, Glen Shiflet, and Betty (Eddie, deceased) Holloway and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, whom she absolutely adored. Jean was born July 5, 1933 to Fred and Estella Shiflet, grew up Knoxville’s Happy Holler community. She accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, (age 11) at North Knoxville Baptist Church. Jean and Jack were charter members of Trinity Community Church and served as Elders there for decades. Jean never met a stranger and everyone she met instantly became part of her family. The family will receive friends on February 1, 2023 from 6PM to 7PM at Trinity Community Church located at 6706 Central Ave Pike, Knoxville, TN 37912, with a 7PM service to follow.
