Virgil Wayne Grissom

Virgil “Doc” Grissom, age 70 of Knoxville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 26, 2021 at his home. Doc was devoted to faith and attended Whitestone Church. He was a retired pipe fitter of Local 102 and Army veteran. He is at peace with our Lord; however, he will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him. He is preceded in death by beloved parents, Ralph H. “Catfish” Grissom, Jr. and Lucille Harris Grissom, brothers Ralph H. Grissom III and Michael S. Grissom. He is survived by loving wife of 31 years Maria C. Grissom, children Shayne (Lisa) Grissom and Ashley (Casey) Dreier, siblings Brenda Smith and Christopher (Robin) Grissom, grandchildren Shayna, Hayden, and Keyley, great-grandchildren Kelon, and several nieces and nephews, with a special thank you to niece Kimberly. There will be a memorial service at One Life Church at 3503 W. Emory Rd on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 3:00pm, with Pastor Mark Zimmerman officiating.
