SFC Virgil Clifton Marks , age 77, of Knoxville, passed away May 23, 2017. He was a member of Corryton Church. Virgil was a member of Pasedena Masonic Lodge #1155, Scottish Rite and the Kerbela Shrine Temple. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1982. He worked as a carrier for the United States Postal Service from 1988-2005. Virgil earned a BSN from Texas Christian University. Preceded in death by wife, Linda Marks; parents, William and Patsy Marks; brother, William Marks Jr.; sister, Margaret Gass. Survived by daughter, Lisa Sandberg; stepson, Jeffrey McClain; daughter, Fabiola Konrad-Gotz; adopted son, Roger Marks; grandchildren, Heather and Keagan Garland, Maximilian and Valintin Konrad; siblings, John Marks, Dorothy Shaffer, Shirley Keith and Earl Marks. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service following at 7:00 pm, with Rocky Ramsey officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:15 am, Tuesday, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Gov. John Sevier for interment at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kerbela Shriners Temple.
