Vince Cara Johnson, 72, moved into his eternal home Friday August 9, 2024 at 5:45 pm. He lifted his arm up towards heaven and Jesus gently received him home. He was surrounded by his family and we witnessed him being ushered into glory.
Vince served in the Navy, and was an Officer with KPD. He became an Insurance Adjuster by trade and ran his own business, East Tennessee Claims Service, for many years until his retirement in 2018. He was a Mason and Shriner. He was the potentate of Kerbela Temple in 2008 and loved his brothers in the Shrine. Vince was an avid motorcyclist and member of the Knoxville chapter of Templar Brotherhood MC. He was a caretaker and servant and would help anyone he could in anyway he was able.
He was preceded in death by his parents Homer Lafayette Johnson, Zola Mae Johnson, and his brother Thomas Warren Johnson.
Vince is survived by his wife, Gail, who adored him; his son, Matthew (Char); brothers, Scott and Stan (Kathy) Johnson; grandson, Nicolas Lindsey, and a host of other friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5:00-7:00PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00PM, Rev. Sharon Farruggia-Paige will present his eulogy. On Wednesday, August 14, 2024 family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel at 1:15PM to go in procession to Bookwalter Cemetery for a 2:00PM graveside service. Pallbearers will be Matthew Johnson, Scott Johnson, Nicolas Lindsey, Terry Kitts, TJ Kitts and Dave Lander. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
