Velma Jean Mynatt Gray, age 80, of Halls, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, after a battle with Alzheimer's. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Velma was a hairdresser for over 30 years. She loved all animals and had many cats and dogs over the years.
She is preceded in death by husband of over 50 years Billy Gray that she cared for daily for seven years following a severe stoke; parents, Ora Bell and Bruce Mynatt; brothers, Billy, Junior and Paul; sisters, Pauline, Vivian (Sissy) and Bobbie.
She is survived by son, Brian Gray; twin sister, Thelma Gardner; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Gary Vandergriff officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30am on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to go in procession to Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Maynardville Highway, for a 11:00am graveside service.
