Tucker Lee, Jr., age 82, of Knoxville, TN, passed away at home on Saturday, May 9, 2015. He was born in Wayne County, TN on February 9, 1933 and attended Wayne County High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in May 1951 and served four years during the Korean conflict and including time in Naples, Italy. While in the service he met Charlye Jean Kirksey, who he married in 1953 and who remained his loving and devoted wife for 62 years. He worked as an Electronics Technician for the FBI, retiring in March 1988, and also worked until 1996 as Assistant Manager, Commercial Carrier for First American Bank. He was a strong yet gentle man. In his spare time, he loved visiting with family (especially taking care of grandchildren), fishing, the beach, music, and RV camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tucker Lee, Sr. and Willie Marie Long Lee, and sister Katherine Y. Davis. He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter Kaye Thompson; son Charles T. Lee; brothers Hershel Ray and Joe Fay Lee; aunt Lois Ray; grandchildren Eric M. Phillips, William C. Thompson, and Audra Grace Lee; brother-in-law Clayton Davis; daughter-in-law Heather Lee; son-in-law Robert H. Thompson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Udit Chaudhuri; Dr. Richard Antonucci; Dr. S. Boppana and the wonderful caregivers at the Cancer Center at Tennova North; Amedysis Hospice Care; and the members of Christ United Methodist Church for their prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Amedysis Hospice. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, TN with Shackleford Funeral Home in charge.
