Officer Tucker Blakely, age 29, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. Tucker was a Patrol Officer assigned to the Knox County Sheriff's Office Echo Shift (Echo-19). Tucker was serving his last shift with his Echo brothers and sisters when he was shot. Tucker was recently chosen as a K-9 Handler, which was his dream; his K9 was placed with him on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Tucker served the Citizens of Knox County and the Knox County Sheriff's Office faithfully until his untimely in-line of duty death. Tucker was a graduate of the Powell High School Class of 2012 and marched in the Powell High School Band. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Survivors: wife of 7 years, Katarina Blakely; 5-year-old son, Hendrik Blakely; parents: Mary and Tim Blakely, Sr.; brothers, T. J. (Jessica) Blakely, Jr. and Tyler Blakely, Dustin (Madison) and baby Blakely; nephew, Bo Blakely; sisters-in-law; Sabine, Gabriela, and Tatiana; many nieces and nephews; Rosemarie, Daniel, Johnny, Susan, and many others to come; grandmothers, Betty Anne and Carolyn, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tanja and Daniel Alexander; and his Knox County Sheriff's Office Echo Shift family.
Officer Blakely will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Clear Springs Baptist Church 7350 Tazewell Pike Corryton, TN 37721, followed by a 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service. Following the Celebration of Life Service, there will be a presentation of Law Enforcement Honors.
