Travis Daniel Lay

Travis Daniel Lay, 31 of Heiskell, TN left this earth on September 29, 2020. He was a Purple Heart recipient, Afghanistan, 2010. Infantryman 11Bravo Company. Graduate of Anderson County High School, 2008. Travis loved music, books, bonfires, movies and the outdoors. He was a protector of babies, animals, the elderly and anyone in need. He was full of life, laughter and practical jokes. Life was never dull if he was around. His smile was infectious and welcoming to everyone, so, his absence in this world leaves a very empty place in the hearts of anyone who knew him. Preceded in death by his grandfathers Harm Columbus Lay and Robert James Raby. Survived by mother Karmalita Rosita Raby-Williams, father Gregory Wayne Lay (Mary), grandparents John and Joy McCampbell, grandmothers Toni Teresa Raby and Elizabeth Blanch Lay, great grandmother Delores Carmalita Raby, aunts Lisa Robinette and Tammy Waterston and uncle Tim Lay, great aunts Trish and Tracy Raby and Angie Hylton, cousins Anthony and Tiffany Branch, Christina and Tammy Lay, Shay Seaver, extended family Scott, Sue, Sydney, Zachary Johnson and an abundance of additional loved ones and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM for a 2:00 PM inurnment at East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery on John Sevier Highway on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
