Tosha Hatfield

Tosha Hatfield, born May 23, 1988, left us too soon, on August 9^th, 2023 at Vanderbilt Hospital after a 10-year battle with renal cell carcinoma. Tosha will be fondly remembered by her family, and multitudes of bipedal and 4-legged friends alike, for her optimism, tenacity and brilliant mind and spirit.

Tosha is preceded in death by her father, Stephen Hatfield Jr., maternal grandfather M.S. Young, paternal grandparents Stephen and Barbara Hatfield, special bonus grandfather Mike Messer, aunt Rebecca Inman, as well as special animal companions Luna and Kahlua (The Krust).

She is survived by her mother Connie Hatfield and stepfather Kurt Gregory, sister Emma Gregory, brothers Alex Gregory, Josh, Colby, and Ray Hatfield, paternal grandmother Mary Hatfield Russell, maternal grandmother Evelyn Young, special bonus grandmother Barbara Gregory-Messer, and bonus grandparents Boyd & Mavanee Gregory. She is also survived by uncles Cole (Nancy) Hatfield, Lance Hatfield, Rob Inman, and Steve Young and aunts Terri Lynn Muggridge, Kelly Talley, Pamela Johnson, Katina Wilson, Vanessa Hardin, Roxanne Young, Andrea (Clint) Bell, and Jessica Gregory as well as many, many cousins. Last but never least are her remaining babies – dogs Big Mike, Scouty, and Kila, cats King Leonidas (Baby Kat Leo) and Sir Big Sexy Kat, and the hundreds if not thousands of animals technically owned by others that she loved truly, madly, and deeply even if she never met them in person.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13 from 3:00 – 5:00 with service to follow at the Cedar Lane United Methodist Church, 714 Cedar Lane, Knoxville, TN 37912. Officiating Reverend Richard Richter.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley or Young-Williams Animal Center.
