Timothy Mark Witt

Timothy Mark Witt, 60, of Knoxville, TN, entered into eternal rest with Jesus on 4/25/2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter Wannie Witt and Helen Lucille Witt, special cousin police Lt. Steven McCulley, brother-in-law Dr. Robert Hackler, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. He was born in Knoxville, graduated from Halls High School and the University of Tennessee. Tim demonstrated his Christian faith by serving Baptist churches in various roles for most of his life. He particularly enjoyed hosting Southern Gospel radio programs in the 1970s and 1980s. Tim devoted the last 20 years of his career in management with the State of Tennessee and retired as Regional Director with the Department of Labor & Workforce Development. His volunteer civic involvements included the Sertoma Center, Knoxville Republicans, and the UT Alumni Association. Tim loved God, his family, his friends, the state of Tennessee, the Vols, and the beach, especially Hilton Head Island. Survivors include his sister Patricia Witt Hackler, nieces Ashley Hackler Freeman and Paige Bates Hackler, great-nieces Catherine Marie Freeman and Elizabeth Paige Freeman, and Doris Brantley whom he considered an aunt. Tim requested that no memorial service or graveside service be held and that burial be private. Friends can call at their convenience on Saturday, April 28th from 10am-5pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Sertoma Center or Love Kitchen. Pat, Ashley, and Paige are very grateful for all the family, friends, and former co-workers who lovingly embraced Tim throughout his life and during his final days.
