Timothy James Hertzel

Timothy James Hertzel, age 56, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on February 3, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Tim graduated with his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee and had a 29 year career with the Department of Energy. Tim’s love of the Tennessee Volunteers and the Lady Vols continued throughout his life until the day of his passing. Preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Martin Hertzel. Tim is survived by his wife Aurelia Hertzel; daughter Kelly Hertzel; step-children Adelaida Finsen and Sorin Stanescu; granddaughter Saylor Roberts; siblings John Hertzel, Martin Hertzel Jr., Dan Hertzel, Elizabeth Hertzel, and Tom Hertzel; and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends. Family will receive friends 5 - 7PM Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Road, Knoxville, 37918, with Memorial Service honoring Tim's life, to follow at 7PM. Family and friends will meet 10:45AM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery for 11AM interment.
