Thomas Phillip Evans, age 66 of Corryton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016, having fought a very courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Our earthly father went home to be with his heavenly Father. With 32 years of dedicated service at General Motors, he retired; moving back home to Knoxville to be with his 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. When he wasn’t spending time with family, he thoroughly enjoyed working in his wood shop, gardening, and taking scenic drives through the countryside. Preceded in death by parents, Omer and Hallie Evans; and brother, Jim Evans. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughters, Tammy Evans, and Tracy Evans Bryan and husband Blake; grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Cheyenne, and Brooke; brothers, Danny Evans and Ben Evans and wife Charlaine; mother of his children, Sherry Lamb; special fur babies, Titan and Spirit. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Larry Woods officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:30 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 2pm interment service.
