Thomas J. Jones

Thomas J. Jones, born December 13, 1930, 91 years old. He retired from Lockhead Martin K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge, TN in 1996. He was a man with many God given talents and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church for many years. He was a coach for boys in sports and Boy Scouts. He was skilled in carpentry, plumbing, etc. In later years, he loved to travel and dance. He was a dance instructor with wife, Judy, for many years. His greatest accomplishment was accepting the Lord Jesus Christ in adulthood. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Flora Jones; two daughters, Carol Ann and Rebecca; son he raised, Russ Lamb. He is survived by wife, Judy; son, Scott (Terry); extended family sons, Doug Smelcer (Kim), Tony Smelcer (Kim); granddaughters, Tonya McCarty (Kevin), Jennifer Smelcer Stooksbury (Stephen); great-grandchildren, Blake and Bryce McCarty, and Gracie Stooksbury. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Monday, December 20. 2021, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service, Dr. Alan Price officiating.
