Honeycutt, Thomas Glenn – of Corryton (formerly of Powell) went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on July 17, 1926. Mr. Honeycutt was an active member of Fountain Valley Church. He was known for his love of gospel music, scripture, and horses and for his strong work ethic with several business endeavors including owning and operating the Honeycutt Horse Farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Fannie M. Honeycutt; parents Samuel and Letha Pauline (Carr) Honeycutt; brothers Wendell Honeycutt, Horace Honeycutt, and Lloyd Honeycutt; sisters Juanita Honeycutt, Ausnie Bell Honeycutt, Thelma Fields, and Sue Beaty; and son-in-law Wayne Woods.
He is survived by his children Mary (Robert) Kiser, Janice Hunt, Tommy (Millie) Honeycutt, De Lores Honeycutt, and Betty (Gary) Lloyd; grandchildren Erik (Amber) Hunt, Travis (Beth) Honeycutt, Rod (Carrie) Crawford, Teresa Crawford, Amanda Lloyd, Andrea (Jared) Walker, and Dillon Lloyd; 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Sam Honeycutt. He will also be missed by his cherished horse, Dolly.
The family expresses their deep appreciation to the staff of Fort Sanders Hospital Transitional Care Unit, Shannondale Health Care Center, and Amedisys Hospice Services for the excellent and loving care he received.
Receiving of friends will be held at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City, 2829 Rennoc Road, on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 4-6 pm with a celebration of life service to immediately follow with Rev. Danny Overholt officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Monday, April 30, at 12:15 pm for a procession to Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike. The graveside service will begin at 1 pm with prayer and scripture provided by Rev. Andy Lynn and Rev. Eric Nafziger and singing by The Parsons Redeemed of Atlanta, Georgia.
