Thomas Edward Copeland, 77, of Knoxville, TN, passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 14, 2021. He leaves his son, Michael E. Copeland and wife Tiffany L. Copeland; granddaughters, Faith and Aly; grandson, Braxton; uncle, James "Buddy" Copeland and wife Elizabeth; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Marie Copeland in 2006 and his father, Major Copeland. Born in Blaine, TN in 1943, his early years were spent on a farm. At the age of 18, he moved to Knoxville. In his time, at ORNL, he was instrumental in the resolution of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant incident and later went on to be very successful in the data and telecommunications field. After he retired, he enjoyed metal detecting and fishing. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Beyond all those accomplishments, he was, more than anything else, an amazing Father and Grandfather that loved unconditionally and was given the same in return. His suffering has ended, his faith was strong, and though he will be sorely missed, today we celebrate his reunions and look forward to the day we will be reunited as well. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2pm graveside service with Rev. Keith Vaughan officiating.
