Theresa Lynne Higgins Wilson, 69 years old, of Knoxville TN, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on June 30th, 2021, after an almost 30 year hard-fought battle with MS.
Theresa was the kind of person who was loved by all she knew. She was beautiful, capable, kind, outgoing, loving, fierce, and unstoppable in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. A deep love of family came first and foremost in her life, and she welcomed everyone she knew into her world with warmth and a bright smile.
As an incredible wife, mother, sister, Mimi, aunt, cousin, etc. she taught her family how to love unconditionally and to approach the adventure of life with authenticity and zeal.
Theresa was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and sang in the choir there for close to 20 years. She was a beloved Acteens leader and Sunday School teacher as well. She also spent the majority of her career as a Financial Clerk at the church. Earlier in life, she was an insurance adjuster for Liberty Mutual. She was also a well-loved Girl Scout leader for many years, having reached Cadet level herself. At home, she was known for her delicious cooking, her beautiful singing voice (and spontaneous outbursts into song), her love of gardening, her daily phone calls, and her fondness for travel. She attended every single one of her family’s recitals, plays, and events without fail.
She is preceded in death by her father E.C. “Forrest” Higgins and mother Grace Hensley Higgins, father-in-law Joe Wilson, sister-in-law Lana Foster (Calvin), nephew Tyler Wilson, and great- nephew Lincoln Engle.
She is survived by her husband Nathan Wilson, their daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Scoonover and
son-in-law Jonathan Scoonover, granddaughter Caroline Scoonover, sisters Pamela Engle (Ed)
and Wendy Blevins (Mike), and nieces/nephews Rachel Engle, Ben Engle (Sara), Rebecca Reaves
(Josh), Catherine and Michael Blevins, mother-in-law Lorena Wilson, brother-in-law Terry
Wilson (Connie), Camille Foster (Julie), Melanie Rose (Tommy), Ashley Peters (Chris), great-
nieces and nephews Taylor, Trenton, and Timmy Rose, Emma and Amelia Peters, Dani Engle,

Riddle, and many other beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.
