Ted L. Maynard (Theodore Leslie Maynard)
Ted, age 70 of Knoxville, went to rest on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Ted was born in Zion, IL, on December 18, 1951 to his wonderful parents that were laid to rest in 2004, Herbert and Betty Lee Maynard. He was raised with love, music, and faith along with his three surviving sisters- Older sisters Suzi (Kip) Evans of Grayslake, IL; and Debbie (Bob) Clement of Zion, IL; and youngest sister Connie (Tony) Steinke of Winthrop Harbor, IL; along with nieces and nephews in the area. After several jobs, he went into the Electrical Supply field in 1972. He moved to Knoxville, TN, in 1988 and continued in purchasing for Roden Electric (later sold to Kendall Group). He excelled in this line of work that he pursued for just short of 50 years and his work sorely missed when he retired. In 1997, he met and then married, Laura Jean Royer (Maynard), who moved to Tennessee in 1997. They had a good life, enjoyed church fellowship, trips to the beach, and to the mountains. Over the years, Ted continued to direct and sing in the choir, as well as write, speak, and for a while engaged in a weekly Christian radio show. His appreciation of music, that his parents had introduced him to many years ago, was his great love. From playing his Tuba with his mom, Betty, at the piano, to singing solo at church services. Ted is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura, and his step-children: Patrick “Pete” Tunstall and Malinda Tunstall Martinez, as well as Malinda’s husband Michael, their four children- Lily Cesario, Sophia Cesario Bennis, Jackson Cossey, and Lauralee Martinez, and a new great grandbaby, Ripley Bennis. There will be no services held at this time. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com
