Thelma “Ted” Leila Friar Reedy passed away March 29, 2015 surrounded by her beloved family. She was retired from ORNL after 25 years of service. Once she became a grandmother, she became known as “Mimi” to family and most who knew her. Ted enjoyed many hobbies including writing short stories, painting, gardening, singing, and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Jenny Ann Friar; husband, Horace “Hank” Reedy; and son-in-law Tim Butler. She is survived by her children, Linda Reedy Colvin, of Maryville; Patrick Vernon Reedy, of Loudon; Bess Ann Reedy Smith and husband David, of Knoxville; and Dawn Reedy Butler, of Powell; grandchildren, Jenny Colvin, of Maryville; Reed Colvin, of Corryton; Lee Colvin, of Maryville; Katie Butler Ludwig, and husband Matt, of Knoxville; Ben Butler, of Powell; brother-in-law, Vernon Reedy and wife Audra, niece Michelle Presley and husband Ronnie; and nephew Mike Reedy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Thelma’s honor to the charity of your choice. Funeral service will be 7:30 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. Fran Vickers officiating. Friends and family will meet at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:45 am Thursday for interment at 11am with Rev. Thomas Sweet and Rev. Fran Vickers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
