Teresa Selene Tiller Heinz flew home to her Heavenly Father on March 30, 2022. With God by her side, she was blessed to survive many storms including the death of her only son, Zachary, in a car accident at 18 years old, non-Hodgins Lymphoma with future complications of two open heart surgeries, breast cancer, kidney cancer, and lung cancer. Teresa was born July 27, 1955, to loving parents, David and Sarah Tiller in Centerville, TN. After graduating from Hickman County High School in 1973, she attended MTSU for 2 years and then transferred to The University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she earned a B.S. degree in Nursing. She worked for the UT Medical Center in Knoxville for 33 years in neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery. Teresa was Operating Room Clinical Educator for ten years followed by ten years as the Public Relations Education Coordinator.
On the other side of Jordon greeting her at those pearly gates and streets of gold are her earthly father and mother David and Sarah Tiller, Ben and Hazel Tiller (grandparents), Paul and Grace Jones (grandparents), and her beloved son, Zachary. At the “Rainbow Bridge”, excited and overjoyed, are all the beloved dogs and cats who were such good friends.
Leaving behind to cherish so many memories and shenanigans are her loving husband of 40 years, Robert Heinz, devoted daughter Amanda Seymore (Jason), grand-daughter Selah with grand-daughter number two to be here in July of 2022. Those she leaves whose hearts she touched are her sisters Diane Pinkerton (Terry/deceased), Deana Lancaster (Steve), nephew Daniel Fly (Rachel), nieces Leslie Martin (Ross), Rachel McWhorter (Brock), Erin Lancaster, grandnephew/grandnieces Carter and Anna Fly, Franklin, Rorie and Reed Martin.
To all and her family and friends in Knoxville and hometown, “May you all have people you can love to the depths of your being, have the best time of your life, laugh, cry, and dance!”. Most of all, “May you have faith and trust in the heavenly Father because it is him that you will receive peace and comfort from in all the storms of life! Life is never perfect so keep your eyes looking up and forward to the one who is perfect! Lean not on your own understanding but trust in the Lord with all your might.”
A celebration of Teresa's life will be held at 10:00am Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Arlington Church of Christ, 2206 Tecoma Dr Knoxville, TN 37917, Mark Brackney officiating.
