Teresa was born in Knoxville, Tennessee August 3rd, 1956. She was the third child to join the family. She had an older sister, Peggy and an older brother, Ricky. She lived North of Knoxville in a suburb known as Norwood with her family until she married Rick Settle in January of 1977. Teresa attended Norwood Elementary, Northwest Middle School and Central High School. Teresa and friends often walked to the various locations on Clinton Highway for Krystals or to Malcolm's Dairyland Drive In. And then of course, there was Almart for shopping. Krystal and Malcolm's were the "happening places" in Norwood unless one ventured to Fountain City to cruise McDonald's or Shoney's. Teresa graduated Central High School in 1974. Her first car was a Volkswagon Beetle and her dad sent her off with the manual transmission and said "learn to drive it". Some great fun was had with that! Not long after graduation, she got her first job at St. Mary's Hospital in Fountain City. On the spur of the moment, she and Rick decided to get married after a year or two courtship, loaded up and moved to Atlanta with nothing but clothes and the cars they had. She and Rick spent several years in Atlanta and were blessed with their very special daughter Allison in April of 1979. When Allison was about two, they moved back to Knoxville and bought their first home on Fulton Drive in Fountain City. She was later blessed with a special son-in-law, Jerry Lafollette, and a few years later two beautiful granddaughters, Shelby and Caroline. Through the years there were so many memories that it would be nearly impossible to document - trips to the beach with extended family and friends, camping in the Smokies, lots of celebrations with family and friends, shop until you drop experiences in Atlanta after Thanksgiving, holiday and event celebrations, and so on and so on. Teresa had artistic talents that emerged through the years. She was often referred to as another Martha Stewart. Her favorite artistic activity became scrapbooking where she shared her talents with others and made many new friends. She created beautiful items that will be cherished by her daughter and granddaughters and even friends who were blessed to receive her creative gifts. Teresa loved her family with great passion. She was strong willed in ways which made her the problem solver in the family. Everyone looked to her for support. In anything she did, Teresa gave her all. She was full of life and her smile was contagious.
