Ted Jones, age 67, of Knoxville passed away on January 17, 2019. He was a bus operator for Knoxville Area Transit for over 43 years, and a member of Amalgamated Transit Union. He was a member of West Side Baptist church. Preceded in death by parents George & Neoma Jones, grandparents William Ellis & Flora Shuemaker, father-in-law Jack Jones. Survived by wife of 44 years, Debbie Jones, children Deana Varner, Ray Jones, daughter-in-law Tracy Jones, sister Sherry Greene & husband Doug, grandchildren Luke Varner, Kelsey Varner, Sierra Jones, and Caden Jones, mother-in-law Sandra Jones, sister-in-law Terri & David McNeal of St. Louis, nieces and nephews Shaun and Josh Greene, Sandi, Matt and Kelly McNeal, cousins Mike & Carolyn Shuemaker, Ronnie Smith, and Jerry Smith, and several other special cousins, and the big brother his mother never gave him, Kenny Dunlap, special friends Bob Lawson, John English, Luke Johnson, Mike “The Chair” Orrick, and his loving KAT family. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with a service to follow at 2:00 pm, Rev. Josh Greene officiating.
