Ted Alan Hensley, age 56, left us on Saturday, August 8, 2015 due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis to join our recently departed cousin, Mark Chitwood, and grandparents, Nila & D.L. Chitwood and Bernice & John H. Hensley Sr. He fought a courageous battle for many years. His friends and co-workers loved Ted throughout his life. His unique humor turned everyday events into comical episodes. His memories were rich with detail. Don’t wonder if he remembered you, he did. He loved family gatherings and traditions, but was passionate about Nascar. Traveling to racetracks with his Dad, uncles, cousins and friends, especially his special race buddy, Carolyn, thrilled him. Ted was frugal, dependable, immaculate, determined, funny, fierce, inclusive, precise and beautiful. He is survived by parents, Jane C. Hensley and John & Betty Hensley. Sister Anne D. Hensley, dear friend Jeff Draper, step brother Tim Butcher (Jennifer & children), aunts, uncles and cousins. At his request, we will hold a receiving of friends Tuesday from 5-7pm at Mynatt Funeral Home in Halls. Family & friends will meet at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery at 9:45am Wednesday for graveside service at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or your choice of charity is requested. Special thanks to the caregivers at Caris Hospice for their gentle care.
