Tanis Elizabeth Cook

February 1, 1946 — November 11, 2024

Corryton

Tanis Elizabeth Cook, affectionately known to many as “Nana,” was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Corryton, Tennessee.

Tanis was born on February 01, 1946, in Columbus, Mississippi.

Throughout her life she worked in various administrative roles and retired as a business office manager with a home health care agency.

She is survived by children, Holly Spears (Mark), Denise Harris (Brian); grandchildren, Samantha (Matt), Andrew, Anthony “AJ” (Erin), Alexis (Berry), and Joshua; as well as great grandchildren, Ava, Noah, Joseph, Caroline, and Roselyn; her stepchildren, David, Teresa (Bruce); and step-grandchildren, Robert and Justin; as well as her sister, Diane and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Cook; father, Samuel Woolbright; mother, Faye King; sister, Betty Converset; and brother, Covie Woolbright.

She was happily married to Delmer Cook for 43 years and was his sole caregiver for the last 16 years of his life, a role that she performed with love, patience and grace.

Tanis also loved spending quality time with her family, traveling to the beach with her daughters, cooking delicious meals and had an unconditional love for her many beloved fur babies.

We would like to thank UT Hospice for their excellent care.

A celebration of Tanis's life will be held at Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora, Florida, at a date to be determined by her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tanis's memory can be made to your favorite pet rescue under her name for the unconditional love she had for animals.
